Understanding Being IMPACT AWARE™
Intending to hit a ball to a target is your true purpose. There are several elements within the process that include your mind, body, and golf club. The process of harmonizing these elements can be summed up as IMPACT AWARENESS™.
IMPACT AWARENESS™ refines all of what you may believe to be the traditional parts of your golf swing into a few key elements that, together, create a GOLF MOVE™. These elements provide meaningful results to the club’s movement. And the ball responds accordingly...every time.

Being IMPACT AWARE™ is like turning on a light bulb in a dark room. IMPACT AWARENESS™ is a process. It occurs as the golfer advances through a series of technique applications that build the skills, confidence, and ability to perform. Whether a novice or experienced golfer, IMPACT AWARENESS™ will establish the consistency that proves to be so elusive. Imagine the surprise of your friends and "foes" as you breeze through each round, in control, and HAVING FUN! Our Golf Improvement Programs help you discover the "AHA" moment that turns information into knowledge and knowledge into application and application into skill. |
So, what does this mean?
One of the many challenges that students of the game of golf face is method teaching. The individual who teaches golf primarily advocating body parts as the answer to learning golf is a method teacher.
It is through method teaching that students lose their natural or innate abilities to play golf as a "simple" stick and ball game.
When swing thoughts are dominated by a series of seemingly related items, such as "keep your head down," "stiff left arm," "extend," "connect," and so forth, the golf swing turns into a series of individual parts. When performed independently, swing parts leave only determination, hope, and luck for a consistently positive result.
It's actually much simpler - put a club in a child's hand and he or she innately knows the stick must contact the ball to play. They may even naturally adjust to how the stick contacts the ball when a target is introduced.
IMPACT AWARENESS™ leads toward performing the GOLF MOVE™ as a "thought-less" process. This is not to say the mind doesn't contribute, rather it promotes the when and how mental awareness can play its best role.
Relate this to driving a car. Once we understand the Rules of the Road, the mechanics of driving, and the need for awareness, driving becomes an almost natural task. We do not place concentration on the position of our hands or how we sit in the seat, where the key is inserted or whether to turn it to the left or right, what happens in the engine when the key is turned, how hard to press the pedal to approach a specific speed, etc. Our awareness turns to factors above and beyond the mechanics, and these factors are generally more related to outside influences such as other drivers, weather conditions, and where to direct the vehicle to best reach our destination.

- One limitation to the student centers around his or her ability to perform in relation to the method being taught. Are you physically able to perform as directed?
- Another limitation revolves around the student "interpreting" the information being taught. Do you really understand how to implement the instruction?

It is this "thought-less" implementation of basic club movement, while considering golf shot variables, that leads toward

When all is said and done, the action of club-striking-ball is the ONLY thing that matters. Since your primary purpose is to get ball-in-hole in the fewest number of strokes, it only makes sense to put your focus on that which allows you to accomplish this goal most efficiently and effectively.
Your mind determines intent and plan of attack, and your body sets the club in motion to execute the plan. With a clear and precise model and simple instruction on how a ball flies in relation to club movement, you will learn quite quickly how to play the best golf of your life!
